Top Phillies Moment # 5

My Fellow Phans,

For the next 5 days, I will count down the top 5 Phillies moments presenting one daily on my blog:

Phillies Moment 5
September 19th – Werth Caps off Comeback against Nationals with 2-Run Blast

Jayson Werth connected on a 3-2 pitch from Nationals’ Closer Drew Storen to cap off a 4-run 9thinning comeback for the Phillies.

The Phillies entered the 9th trailing the Nationals 6-3. When Ryan Howard’s RBI double brought the Phillies closer at 6-5 and that brought up Jayson Werth, whom, after a lengthy at-bat, homered to dead center field against the Nats’ closer.

The win allowed the Phillies to sweep the Nationals and win their 7th straight ballgame. This game was even more significant since it gave the Phillies momentum into their upcoming series against the Atlanta Braves.

Stay tuned for # 4 Tomorrow!

Until we meet again Phillies fans; Happy Readings and Go Phillies!
