August 12^th – Ruiz helps Phillies Beat Broxton Yet Again with Walk-Off Double

It has been well documented that the Phillies have hit around Dodgers’ closer Jonathon Broxton over the past couple seasons. Entering the bottom of the 8^th inning, the Phillies trailed 9-2. After a 4 run 8^th and a 2-run error courtesy of Dodgers’ third baseman Casey Blake, up stepped Broxton-killer Carlos Ruiz Ruiz promptly blasted a fastball into the left field gap scoring Jayson Werth and Ben Francisco with the tying and winning runs to bring the Phillies all the way back to win 10-9.

The victory capped off a 4-2 home stand for the Phillies and sent them well on their way to the NL East division title.
