Phillies (34-22) @ Pirates (26-28)

My Fellow Phans,

The Phillies travel to a place this weekend that always seems to give us some serious trouble; Pittsburgh.

Here are the pitching matchups for this series:

Friday: Cole Hamels (7-2 3.01) vs. Jeff Karstens (3-4 3.58)

Saturday: Kyle Kendrick (3-3 3.38) vs. Charlie Morton (5-2 2.51)

Sunday: Roy Halladay (7-3 2.56) vs. James McDonald (3-3 4.85)

I promise to keep this preview short seeing as how we’re less then 15 mins until game time. I don’t see any reason why the Phillies  can’t win this series. We have two of the best pitchers in the league going. The Pirates have been surprising this year though. I bet when you looked at these pitching matchups, you wouldn’t expect you to notice that Charlie Morton has the lowest ERA of all of the 6 starters going in this series.

Look for a tough series, the Phillies always seem to have trouble with the Pirates especially on the Bucs’ home field. Hopefully we can reverse the trend and pick up some big wins against our PA rivals.

Until we meet again Phillies fans; Happy Readings and Go Phillies!
